The AGBU Armenian Virtual College (AVC) Hybrid Education Program continues to bring Armenian education to classrooms and communities around the world, combining the benefits of in-person learning with AVC’s online courses and resources.
Since its launch in 2009, the program has grown to include 91 Armenian schools, universities and communities worldwide. The program offers courses in Armenian Language, Armenian History, Armenian Culture and Chess. The main lessons are available in 8 languages of instruction. In recent years, the scope of the program has expanded to include the STEP.ai Artificial Intelligence course in high schools across Armenia.
Students learn alongside their local teachers while connecting with AGBU AVC online instructors. Beyond the classroom, the Hybrid Program creates opportunities for students to connect, discover, and celebrate together. Often, the AGBU AVC Education Team, together with the school or university’s on-site teachers, brings new ideas to life and creates a space for learners to feel a part of a bigger, global community.
Through virtual tours, social events, and global projects, students discover Armenian heritage while connecting with peers around the world. From celebrating International Mother Language Day with creative projects and recitals to exploring the lives and works of Armenian cultural figures, these experiences bring Armenian language, history, literature, and culture to life—making learning both engaging and meaningful.
Hybrid Program student Eva from AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian school at Canoga Park, says, "I love AGBU AVC very much because it is fun, educational, and provides an excellent learning environment.”
Director of the Armenian Chair at National University of Rosario (UNR), Professor Sabrina Demirdjian, shares her thoughts on the program, “The integration of the AGBU AVC has greatly enriched the learning process. The multimedia materials — combining audio, video, and images — enhance the classes, making them more dynamic and promoting a more interactive, motivating, and effective learning experience.”
Through education, technology, and community, AVC continues to provide students with access to Armenian education anytime, anywhere, while empowering onsite teachers with opportunities for professional growth, training, and development.
