AGBU AVC’s Input in the Digital Future of Armenia 11/10/2023

As one of the leading online learning institutions in Armenia and the Diaspora, the AGBU Armenian Virtual College (AVC) actively keeps up with the updates and developments in the tech industry to stay at the forefront of innovations and promote its programs in the field of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education.  

 

On October 17, 2023, AVC participated in the Silicon Mountains Technological Summit, hosted in Yerevan, where tech representatives and visionaries gathered to discuss smart solutions and digital transformations.

 

Dr. Yervant Zorian, AGBU AVC Founding President, Chief Architect of Synopsys and President of Synopsys Armenia, moderated the panel discussion on Smart Country. 

 

The summit served as a platform to address the digital future of Armenia, where participants shared their knowledge, experiences, and innovative ideas to advance the Armenian tech industry. 

 

Another noteworthy event, the 2023 APRI Forum, took place on October 25-27.  The Forum, organized by the Applied Policy Research Institute of Armenia (APRI), addressed Armenia's pressing challenges, exploring ways to overcome the ongoing crisis, enhance stability, and foster sustainable development. 

 

Dr. Yervant Zorian, AVC Founding President and a member of APRI's Founding Board, participated in the Forum and moderated two significant panel discussions. 

 

The first panel, titled "Cybersecurity for Small States" concerned the innovative solutions that small nations must employ to secure their digital transformation. First Deputy Minister of High Tech Industry Gevorg Mantashyan presented his perspective on the issue.

 

In the second panel, Dr. Zorian, joined by Nerses Yeritsyan, Secretary of the Information Systems Management Board, discussed the topic of "Making Progress in Armenia's Digital Transition," emphasizing the vital role of digitalization in Armenia's development.
