The AGBU Armenian Virtual College expands its geography as more Armenian schools and communities in different countries take advantage of AVC’s programs. The two oldest Armenian communities in the South of Russia partner with AVC to preserve and promote the Armenian language and culture among their younger generations.

In 2011, the first group of students started an Armenian language course at the AVC in Rostov-on Don. The collaboration with the local community significantly expanded in 2019, thanks to the proactive efforts of the community leaders and AVC’s team. Currently, 7 Armenian teachers from the Rostov region are enrolled in a training course, preparing to teach Eastern Armenian with AVC’ hybrid program. The program combines the advantages of both online and in-class learning and utilizes modern technology for the benefit of the students.

Over the past years, AVC regularly held online social events for the community members. In December 2019, young students from the “Mashtots” Sunday school learned about Armenian traditions of celebrating New Year and Christmas and the “Arevik” language group in Rostov participated in a virtual event about the Matenadaran. “Thank you, AVC, for providing such an opportunity. We hope that such events will continue in the future,” wrote the Armenian language teacher Armine Hovsepyan in an article published on the community website. In 2019, AVC established an active collaboration with the Armenian community organization 'Erebuni” in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia. The organization operates a Sunday school, with about 15 students attending hour-long Armenian-language classes. During the Skype meeting with AVC hybrid program coordinator Arpine Tavakalyan, the community representatives and the local teacher Asya Mardoyan expressed their desire to make use of AVC’s programs to boost interest towards the Armenian language and cultural heritage and strengthen community ties.
