What we offer
The geography of schools involved in AVC Hybrid Education is expanding, with the Armenian Society of New Zealand taking practical steps to begin language classes in the upcoming school year.
Mr. Noobar Yaghobian, the head of the Armenian Community of New Zealand, describes the collaboration with the AGBU Armenian Virtual College “as one of the important steps to preserve the Armenian identity of young Armenians inside our community.” Mr. Yaghobian had the opportunity to establish contacts with AVC and learn about its online education options at the 6th Armenia-Diaspora Pan-Armenian Conference.
The plans to start AVC hybrid education classes at the Sunday school in Auckland were discussed during an e-meeting between the Armenian Community of New Zealand and AVC on October 15, 2017. The community was represented by Dr. Zaven Panossian , Noobar Yaghobian, Arsen Sargsyan and Gohar Baghdasaryan. The AVC participants included Dr. Yervant Zorian, the AVC Founding President, Arpine Tavakalyan, Hybrid Education Program Coordinator, and Garnik Sevoyan, Operations Director.
The second e-meeting with the community members, teachers, parents and students was held on December 3, 2017. The classes at the Sunday school will begin in February 2018.
