AVC Chess Teacher Training Program Presented at The International Conference in London 11/10/2019

The AVC Online Training for Chess Teachers program was presented at the 7th Chess and Education Conference in London in November 2019. This major event, sponsored by the FIDE World Chess Federation, European Chess Union and other influential organizations attracted attendees from 32 countries.

As part of the Chess in Education stream, the AVC liaison in the UK, Sarkis Mazmanian, candidly discussed the main features and concentrated on the key benefits of the online teacher training program.

This innovative program is the result of a successful collaboration between AVC and the Chess Academy of Armenia. It has been designed by the country’s leading experts in chess education and child psychology and comes to supplement the AVC online chess course, also developed in collaboration with the Chess Academy of Armenia.

The program addresses both the practical and methodological aspects of teaching. It includes video lectures accompanied by visual examples and interactive quizzes, as well as real-life examples from schools using the AVC online chess course in their curriculum.

The presentation was received with great interest, given the importance of the topic throughout the conference. Smbat Lputian, Chairman of FIDE “Chess in Education” Commission and President of the Chess Academy of Armenia, answered a number of questions on the topic following the presentation.

Earlier, the AVC chess teacher training program was presented at the international conference “The Current State and Development Trends of Chess Education” in Tsakhkadzor in May 2019.
