AVC Global Community Celebrated the 2800th Anniversary of the Armenian Capital 10/30/2018

The AVC students worldwide celebrated the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan with a video performance of the anthem of the Armenian capital and a series of virtual events dedicated to the city’s history, architecture and cultural traditions.

AGBU Lazar Najarian-Calouste Gulbenkian School, Aleppo, Syria, AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian High School, Canoga Park, USA, AGBU Montreal Hayotyats Or Saturday School, Canada, Janice Okoomian, Rhode Island, USA, Joseph Syren, Alaska, USA, Mesrop Mashtots Sunday School, Madrid, Spain, St. Sarkis Varjaran, Dallas, Texas, USA and the Armenian Evangelical College, Beirut, Lebanon participated in the “virtual choir” performance of “Erebuni-Yerevan.” The video of the song was published on Yerevan Day, October 21, as a present from the AVC global community to the capital of Armenia.

AVC also organized social events for the students of the Hayotyats Or Saturday School in Montreal, Mesrop Mashtots Sunday School in Madrid and Hayartun Cultural and Educational Center in Tbilisi. The hybrid program coordinator Arpine Tavakalyan and online instructor Zepur Kheblikian told them about the city's past and present and guided them on a virtual tour of the local museums, historical sites and cultural attractions.
