AVC Participates in International Conference “The Armenian World on the Internet” 08/25/2016
On August 25, AVC’s innovation approach to education was presented at the two-day international conference entitled The Armenian World on the Internet. The conference, a joint effort of the Armenian Ministry of Diaspora and Yerevan State University, attracted a great number of researchers both Armenia and the Diaspora. AVC participated in the conference to share its unique online education experience with the participants and guests. In her opening speech Minister Hranoush Hakobyan focused on the new horizons that recent technologies opened up for Armenians, taking into consideration the needs of a nation dispersed all over the world. In this connection, the Minister emphasized the case of the Armenian Virtual College: “I would like to thank AGBU for creating the Armenian Virtual College. Today, it is functioning so well and solves major issues related to the preservation of Armenian identity and language.” AVC Founding President Dr. Yervant Zorian presented AVC’s innovative activities and online achievements at the panel session entitled “Armenian World on the Scientific and Educational Platform of the Internet”. Dr. Artur Avagyan, AVC Development Team Manager, spoke about ways of virtualization of teaching resources showcasing how AVC’s teaching materials were developed on the web. The three thematic sessions of the conference were followed by active discussions on the problems of the Armenian Studies on the network. The participants suggested their solutions related to the distance learning of the Armenian language, Armenian heritage, and information security on the network.
