The 10th Pan-Armenian Educational Conference Recently Held 09/07/2022

On August 16-21, AGBU AVC participated in the 10th Pan-Armenian Educational Conference organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports in Aghveran, Armenia. Educators from Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora gathered to discuss issues related to the preservation of the Armenian language and identity. The conference brought together nearly 100 representatives from Armenian organizations and educational institutions in 21 countries.

During the daily plenary sessions and group meetings, the participants presented the situation in the field of education in Armenia, Artsakh and different communities in the Diaspora, discussed the ways of collaboration and outlined future goals and plans. Some of the topics referred to teaching Eastern and Western Armenian in daily and one-day schools, bilateral cooperation between educational institutions, school and adult education and more.

During the thematic group discussions and workshops, AVC Education Team Manager Marine Khachaturyan and Western Armenian Affairs Coordinator Zepur Kheblikian spoke about various aspects of AVC’s experience in e-learning and focused on the unique educational opportunities it offers to schools in the Diaspora. AVC Partnership and Operations Team Manager Arpine Tavakalyan presented AVC’s programs at a plenary session.

Several teachers also shared their positive experience of working with AVC’s hybrid program, and new contacts were established for potential collaboration.

Speaking at the closing of the conference, Deputy Minister of Education Artur Martirosyan highly praised the work of the Armenian educators in preserving national identity in the Diaspora. “This Conference is a platform that allows us to speak about the problems with organizing education in the Diaspora and determine the ways of cooperation with the Ministry of Education,” he said.

The previous Pan-Armenian educational conference was held online in 2020 on the AVC platform. In the past two years, the AVC Pan-Armenian Educational Forum continued to offer educational webinars and opportunities for professional development to more than 1,500 educators from around the world.
