Beijing’s Armenian Embassy Hosts AVC Founder 09/23/2015
2015 continued opening of new horizons for the Armenian Virtual College in Asia, following AVC Founder Yervant Zorian’s visit to Beijing, China in September. The offerings of AVC were previously introduced to one of China’s major cities, Hong Kong. Dr. Zorian’s recent visit to the capital of Beijing was another opportunity to confirm the ties with the country and the Armenians residing, studying and working there, especially in Beijing. While in Beijing, Dr. Yervant Zorian had the opportunity to visit the Republic of Armenia’s Embassy in Beijing. He was hosted by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the People’s Republic of China, Armen Sargsyan, as well as met with the embassy staff. During his visit, Dr. Yervant Zorian had the opportunity learn of the status of the Armenian Community in Beijing and their needs—among them, educational. In this context, he shared information on AVC course offerings and activities, including the AVC Multimedia e-Book Series. The ambassador was enthusiastic to learn of AVC e-Learning opportunities, and together assessed the idea of introducing AVC in China.
