International Partnership Brings AVC Courses to University Students in Argentina 04/06/2022

About 30 students of the Faculty of Arts and Culture at the National University of Rosario, Argentina, (UNR) completed the 2021 cycle and started the second level of the AVC Armenian Language course.

Close to the end of their studies, the AVC online instructor Gohar Gevorgyan AVC took them on a virtual tour of the History Museum of Armenia. “So glad we were able to travel together, even if it was virtually”, said one of the students during the event.

NRU became the first university in Latin America to incorporate AVC’s courses into its curriculum. On March 30, 2021, AVC Founding President Yervant Zorian and Lic. Franco Bartolacci, Rector of UNR, one of the largest universities in Argentina, signed an agreement on cooperation during the online ceremony marking the launch of the Armenian language course at UNR.  This newly established partnership was made possible thanks to the efforts of the Armenian Chair at the university and AGBU Buenos Aires.

“It is an honor and pride for the National University of Rosario to formalize and institutionalize the ties between our institutions through this agreement,” said Prof. Franco Bartolacci. He noted that the agreement was in line with the institutional strategy of expanding and strengthening international ties and relations and would help to promote the culture and identity of the Armenian community.

“We are very excited about this opportunity, and we’ll do the best from our end at AGBU and AVC to make this program successful for your students,” said Dr. Yervant Zorian.
