YSIP 2016 Classes with AVC: Best Practice of Blended Learning 07/31/2016
This summer, eighteen participants of the AGBU Summer Intern Program developed their Western Armenian language skills through AVC’s Hybrid Education Program. The program began on June 20 and ended on July 29, 2016. The interns were divided to groups based on their language skills. Using online-based teaching materials, AVC Online Instructors Ani Dekirmenchyan and Zepur Kheblikian acted as onsite instructors leading the students throughout the courses. During the formal reception organized by AGBU at the end of the program, AVC Academic Director Dr. Hasmik Khalapyan presented AVC certificates to the participants for the successful completion of the Western Armenian language courses. The interns thanked Dr. Khalapyan and their instructors for the knowledge shared and the pleasant experience. They expressed motivation to continue taking AVC courses after the end of the program, too. One of the highlights of the program was the interns’ meeting with AVC Founding President Dr. Yervant Zorian. At the friendly and informal get-together in one of the cozy corners of Yerevan, Dr. Yervant Zorian had an open and sincere discussion with the young people, learned about their stories and achievements in their communities and their plans for the future. For four consecutive years, AVC Armenian Language course has been part of the educational program of the interns upon their arrival in Armenia. The courses have not only helped the interns learn and practice their mother tongue, but have also added to their online and blended learning experience.
